- HARROW BEAUTY is one of the newer Canadian peach varieties. It was created by crossing Harken x Cresthaven. Thanks to its hardiness it can be grown in less suitable climates.
- The tree grows moderately vigorously, the crown can be grown in the shape of a boiler-shaped crown or a slender spindle. It grows on the St. Julien A rootstock which is a vegetatively propagated, moderately vigorous growing rootstock, The tree is about 35% smaller than the Myrobalan rootstock. It is also suitable for heavier soils.
- HARROW BEAUTY peach is a self-pollinating variety, flowering profusely. The yield is high, regular.
- The fruits of HARROW BEAUTY are medium-sized (150-100 g), round, slightly flattened. The surface is covered with yellow skin and crimson blush. Inside is yellow, juicy, very sweet and fragrant flesh. The stone is small and separates well from the flesh. It ripens in July/August.
- HARROW BEAUTY peaches are ripe for picking in late July. However, the exact harvest date depends on the individual weather conditions prevailing in the growing year and the location of the tree. The fruit is suitable for consumption immediately after harvesting, with an acceptable storage period of 1-4 weeks depending on the storage environment (peaches are best stored in a refrigerator).
- HARROW BEAUTY is less susceptible to most diseases, but like most peaches requires preventive monitoring for the occurrence of 'Leaf Curl'.
- Growing HARROW BEAUTY does not require special requirements. The variety needs a sunny site, possibly sheltered from strong winds, and prefers permeable, fertile soil with a moderate moisture content of 6.5-7.0 pH.
- The peach variety is very hardy and can be planted in any region of our country.
