- Plum AMERS is a popular variety of plums. It belongs to the late ripening varieties. It is known for its excellent taste and aroma. Its origin can be traced back to the USA.
- The AMERS plum tree reaches a height of 6 to 8 meters. It has a spreading crown, which is 4-6 meters wide. The crown is sparse and evenly branched.
- AMERS plum blooms in spring, in April, depending on the climatic and weather conditions. The flowers of the AMERS plum are white. This plum is partially self-pollinating, and suitable pollinators are other plums that bloom at the same time (Bluefree, Stanley, etc.).
- The fruits of the AMERS plum are medium to large in size. They have an oval shape with rounded ends and weigh around 50-60 grams. The color of AMERS plums is purple-blue or burgundy-blue with a distinct waxy coating. AMERS plums have a sweet, slightly spicy taste with a subtle acidity. The flesh is juicy and tender, and it separates easily from the pit. Fruits ripen from mid-September.
- AMERS plums are suitable for fresh consumption, but they are also commonly used for making jams, compotes, cakes, and other desserts. They can also be dried or frozen for later use.
- The AMERS plum prefers a sunny location or partial shade. As for the soil, it is not demanding and can be grown in various agricultural regions.
- In general, the AMERS plum is a resilient, adaptable, and resistant variety that can be cultivated in different areas.
