Raspberry *Promyk* is an early yellow-fruited variety that produces on annual shoots. It is a remontant (repeated fruiting) variety and is highly fertile. It is ideal for growing in tunnels, in plantations and in gardens for hand harvesting.
The shrub grows upright, with sturdy light green shoots covered with thorns. Fruiting begins in early August, with large, shiny, bright yellow, regular cone-shaped fruits. Their taste is extremely sweet due to their high sugar level (extract content 12 % Brix), they are juicy and aromatic. Raspberries *Promyk* have an excellent shelf life and tolerate transport well.
The variety is resistant to diseases, especially raspberry rust. It thrives best in a sunny, warm and sheltered position. It is important to avoid areas exposed to strong winter winds and spring frosts, which can damage the buds. The soil should be light, aerated, well drained and have a slightly acid pH (around 6,5). Although raspberries need plenty of moisture, the soil should not be waterlogged.
Regular pruning is necessary to ensure a high yield. Once fruiting is complete, in autumn, the shoots are removed close to the ground to encourage a rich crop the following season and to minimise the spread of disease. If the shoots are retained, the plant may produce a smaller spring crop the following year, but this is usually negligible, so this practice is not recommended.
The *Promyk* raspberry is an excellent choice for growers looking for an early, sweet and hardy variety with a long shelf life and high yield.
